Last updated: 3 November 2026
RDF Electrical & Security Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16798757. Our registered office is 2 Ravenswood Road, Wirral, CH61 6UA. You can contact us on 07312 500 571 or at info@rdfelectrical.com.
Part 1 of these terms covers your use of our website. Part 2 covers our quotes and the work we carry out for you. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Part 1: Using our website
1. About these terms
By using www.rdfelectrical.com you accept Part 1 of these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the website.
2. Information on the website
The website gives general information about our services. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but it isn't advice about your particular property or installation, and you shouldn't rely on it as such. Every job is different: we'll confirm what's needed, and the price, in a quote.
Prices shown on the website, such as our emergency callout rates, are correct at the time of publishing and are confirmed when you contact us.
3. Forms and photos you send us
When you use a form on our website or send us photos, you agree that:
- the information you give is accurate and is yours to give
- you have the right to send any photos you attach, and they don't contain anything unlawful or offensive
- you won't use the forms to send spam, malicious files or anything unrelated to an enquiry
How we use the information you send is explained in our Privacy Policy.
The quote request form is provided by Tradify and is also subject to Tradify's terms.
4. Our content
The text, photos, logo and design of this website belong to us or are used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but you may not copy or reuse them for any other purpose without our written permission.
The logos of the organisations we are approved by, trained with or members of belong to those organisations and are shown to indicate our relationship with them.
5. Links to other websites
Our website links to other websites, such as Google, Facebook, WhatsApp and Tradify. We aren't responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
6. Availability
We don't guarantee that the website will always be available or free from errors or viruses. We may change or withdraw it at any time. Please use your own virus protection.
7. Our responsibility for the website
We are not responsible for any loss or damage caused by using the website or relying on its content, except where the law doesn't allow us to exclude it. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Part 2: Quotes and our work
8. Quotes
- Our quotes are free.
- A quote is a fixed price for the work it describes. It is valid for 7 days from the date we give it, unless it says otherwise.
- The quote is based on what we could see and what you told us. If, once work starts, we find something that couldn't reasonably have been seen (for example hidden damage, faults in the existing wiring, or asbestos), we'll stop, explain it and agree any change in price with you before carrying on.
- Any extra work you ask for will be quoted and agreed before we do it.
9. Accepting a quote
A contract between us is formed when you accept our quote (by phone, text, email or in person) and we confirm a start date.
We ask for a deposit of 50% of the quoted price when you accept the quote. The remaining 50% is due on completion.
10. Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our business premises (for example at your home, by phone or online), you have 14 days from the day the contract is formed to cancel it for any reason. To cancel, tell us clearly by phone, email or letter.
If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you'll pay for the work done up to the point you told us, and for any materials made or ordered specially for you. If the work is finished within the 14 days at your request, you lose the right to cancel.
Emergency callouts that you ask us to attend straight away are work you've asked us to start immediately.
11. Emergency callouts
Our 24/7 emergency callout rates are:
- 8am to 8pm: £75 for the callout and the first hour, then £45 per hour after that
- 8pm to 8am: £125 for the callout and the first hour, then £125 per hour after that
Materials costs are not included in these rates.
12. Discounts
We offer 10% off labour for Blue Light Card holders. The discount doesn't apply to materials, and it is given at our discretion.
13. Your responsibilities
To help us do the work safely and on time, please:
- give us safe access to the property and the areas we need to work in, at the agreed times
- tell us about anything we should know, such as known faults, previous work, or materials that may contain asbestos
- clear and protect personal belongings in the work areas, unless we've agreed beforehand to do this for you
- for EV charger installations, check you have permission to install a charger where you want it (for example from your landlord, freeholder or management company)
If we attend at an agreed time and can't get access, we charge £50 for the wasted visit.
14. Our work
We'll carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, to the current wiring regulations (BS 7671) and in line with Building Regulations. When the work is finished we'll give you the certificates it requires and, for EV chargers, we'll notify the electricity network operator.
Dates we give are our best estimate. We'll keep you updated if anything changes, but we aren't responsible for delays caused by things outside our control, such as supplier delays, bad weather or illness.
15. Payment
- A 50% deposit is due when you accept the quote, and the balance is due on completion.
- We accept bank transfer and cash. We don't take card payments.
- We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.
- Materials remain ours until they have been paid for in full.
16. Guarantees
- We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from completion. If something we installed fails because of our workmanship in that time, we'll put it right free of charge.
- Products we fit come with their manufacturer's warranty, which we'll register for you where needed.
- Our guarantee doesn't cover faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, work by others, or normal wear and tear.
This is in addition to your legal rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, our services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and the goods we supply must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
17. Our responsibility
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We aren't responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses if you use our services for business purposes. We hold public liability insurance of £5 million.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
18. Complaints
If you're unhappy with our work, please tell us as soon as possible on 07312 500 571 or at info@rdfelectrical.com, and we'll do our best to put it right.
General
19. Your information
We use your personal information as explained in our Privacy Policy.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you accept a quote is the one that applies to that work.
21. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
